WE RESPECT NATURE

OUR VALUES

At Save The Duck, we have our own rhythm and respect that of the Planet.

Nature is our source of inspiration

We are committed to using the resources that nature makes available to us responsibly, so as to preserve it for those who come after us.

We are constantly looking for innovative solutions to improve our work in terms of environmental protection.

Combating climate change

Since 2018, we have been collecting and monitoring data on our climate-changing gas emissions. We have implemented an emission reduction plan, working closely with our partners to mitigate the emissions generated in the production of our garments and the raw materials necessary to make them.

Water balance

At the beginning of 2023, we made a commitment to balance water consumption related to the production of our garments by providing clean water to those who do not have access to this precious commodity. The Sumba Foundation is a non-profit organisation committed to providing safe drinking water to more than 30,000 people on Sumba Island in Indonesia every day.

Through this activity, we want to contribute to increasing the wellbeing of populations, such as the people of Indonesia, by providing them with the means to get out of poverty and create sustainable economies to improve their living conditions, respecting their cultural traditions.

Circularity

Creating a circular product lifecycle, with a regenerative Cradle to Cradle approach, means designing products that not only do no harm, but bring benefits to people and the environment throughout their entire lifecycle.

Circular products do not create waste, as all the materials they are made of are potentially recyclable or biodegradable. By choosing low-impact raw materials and accessories, we can guarantee our garments a longer life and mitigate the consequences on the environment.

Eco design and guiding principles

In 2021, we drafted our Guidelines for Responsible Design, with the aim of providing practical suggestions to our designers to create garments in line with the principles of circularity.

These include the choice of materials with low environmental impact, the reduction of waste in design and production, product durability, intelligent design with the use of advanced technologies, the choice of safe chemicals, ethical production and the circular perspective that considers the entire value chain of the product to reduce the environmental impact of textile waste.
